Sacred union is a term used in Tantra to describe the pinnacle moment of the merging of the divine forces of Shiva & Shakti, the sacred masculine and feminine principles regarded as the foundation of all interactions in the universe. The term ‘sacred’ refers to the belief that this moment is inherently transpersonal, beyond human capability of comprehension and, therefore ineffable or unable to be spoken about. The term ‘union’ is used in its most fundamental aspect, namely that there is an experience of life for humans that is ‘consciousness beyond duality’. Sacred union is therefore a transpersonal experience, which is incomprehensible, ineffable consciousness beyond duality.
This view, while not inherently sexual or sensual, is used in Tantra because the goal of union of the divine feminine and masculine is only, truly attained within each partner, simultaneously and spontaneously. Tantric schools taught that because sexuality and sensuality are aspects of our human experience which are so rich with energetic potential they are, therefore, capable of attracting our awareness so totally that they act as vehicles to transpersonal experience. Moreover, Tantric couples understand that their relationship is a divine vehicle meant to harmonize the universal inner masculine and inner feminine aspects within each partner through the external catalyst of physical attraction and loving connection. As this happens it sends ripples outward, affecting those around the couple and, on a microcosmic level, the world and the universe.
While these lofty ideals may not be the prerogative of every couple, it is our hope to inspire and instill this consciousness as an active, growing seed within those couples who enter this space with us.

It is worth mentioning that this workshop is very dear to us as a couple on the path of sacred sexuality. We love working with couples and watching as intimacy is revealed, enlivened, integrated and refined. For us it amounts to watching divine artistry or poetry in spontaneous creation. Because of this we intend to make sure that our space is held and maintained in the utmost care. For intimacy and transformation to flourish, an environment of safety and security must be the highest principles.
In this workshop we will:
~ use the Tao & Tantra precepts to create a vital, healing space where relating creates transformation
~ learn to use sensuality, conscious touch and massage to create intimacy
~ utilize Tantric and Taoist concepts to create a language for relating
~ utilize the trust and love of our partner and the power of our own longing to evolve a sense of self that can only be achieved in relationship to a beloved
~ use music, dance and our unique environment to evoke primal passions
~ use rite, prayer and meditation to create rituals of ecstasy, beauty and truth
~ use inquiry, one-to-one relating and ritual to resolve repetitive mistakes in relating
~ use meditation to penetrate those primal mysteries and compassion to resolve old belief patterns
~experience the necessity of aloneness in relationship
~ learn to use depth of feeling as a tool to discover and liberate deep longing for connection
~ learn to tap universal reserves of energy to create a life that is a work of art
